Romans 10:4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
What is the aim for the believer? Are the sons and daughters of God called to be good just for the sake of being good? Is it our aim to be good and righteous for the sake of moralism or for personal gain? Should our aim to be good be grounded in our desire for peace and love and fulfillment? The answer to all is a resounding no!
The aim of the believer is Christ and Christ alone. For Christ is the Word of God incarnate, and all Scripture points to Him. The apostle John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” Also, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” We are to be “conformed to the image of Christ” in all things.
All creation points toward Christ. The Word is fulfilled and made manifest in Christ. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved! Christ is now seated at the right hand of the Father, and the Father is now working all things under His subjection. As Christ rules, the Father is bringing all the enemies of Christ under Him as a footstool.
Our prayer every morning is that God the Father would orchestrate the day to glorify His Son. We must ask for strength, wisdom, guidance, and love to reflect His Son in all that we think, do, say, and act. We must lay down all our self-righteousness and ask the Lord to do whatever it takes to make us most into the image of His Son. For the end of all things is the glory of Christ, and the Word of God conforms us into the image of Christ, and this is the aim for all who believe and are His.

Father, how easily I forget that all things are for Christ. I many times stand self-righteously on my podium and believe Your will is for me is about what I can get and what I can hold on to. What a fool I have been. Here is all I am and all You have given me. Use them for Your glory. Change my heart and mind to reflect You and You alone. I praise You for who You are. In Christ’s name. Amen
