Deuteronomy 10:14

Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it.

  1. All things belong to God. There is nothing that happens, nothing throughout the day that the Lord does not ordain and orchestrate.

  2. Not only does what we see belong to the Lord, but all that we don’t see—every infinitesimal atom that is in the furthest part of the universe—is under His Lordship, authority, and direction. All that is in heaven above and the earth below, and all things are ordained and orchestrated by God.

  3. In this we find refuge, and in this we find our hope. Our aim is to know God: to know Him, worship Him, and glorify Him. We are to seek Him with all our hearts and give to Him all we have, for His glory and our good.

  4. To not give Him an aspect of our heart is to deny His Lordship. It is to harden our hearts, and it is to lean on our own understanding. It is to attempt toward self-lordship and to deny the cross of Christ.

  5. We are to trust the Lord and know His Word and to strive to live according to His Word by the power of the Holy Spirit. For all things belong to Him and to Him alone.

Father, You are in heaven, and You are establishing Your Kingdom on earth. I don’t understand how I am to think and act in this truth. I confess I am unable to in my own strength and flesh. But You, Oh Lord, have sent Your Holy Spirit to help me and lead me and guide me. Please help me to know You, that I may make You known. Grant me to flourish under Your Lordship, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name I ask this. Amen
