Psalm 14:1

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.

  1. Who says there is no God? A fool! It is the fool who denies the existence and the truth of the Lord.

  2. The fool says, “There is no God,” but everyone knows there is a God. For the fool surpasses the truth in unrighteousness. The fool desires abominable deeds rather than the beauty and glory of Christ! He would rather be a fool than to acknowledge the one true God.

  3. All of creation bears witness to the existence of God, and the heavens declare His glory! Every man knows there is a God, but in our sin and rebellion against God we suppress and deny the radiant truth of Him.

  4. We must also recognize, “there is none who does good.” Even the knowledge we have of the Lord is a gift from Him so that no one can boast. Our hope in the Lord, our knowledge of God, our ability to worship Him are all gifts from the Lord, who brought us out of death and into His marvelous light!

Father, my heart rejoices in You. It longs to abide in You, and this is a gift of Your Holy Spirit, through Christ Jesus, my Lord. I confess the circumstances in my life when I have thought, “There is no God,” and have taken a practical, atheistic view of those circumstances. Forgive me. Draw near to me and help me to walk in Your way. Help me to know Your Lordship and Kingship in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen
